The Mahmoudi Foundation, (or “the Foundation”) is committed to protecting donor privacy. This Privacy Statement applies to the Foundation website, and governs the collection and usage, as well as donor information collected both online and offline. By using the Foundation websites, you consent to the data practices described in this Donor Privacy Statement.

This applies to all personal information provided to the Foundation. Personal information is defined as the name, address, telephone number, gift history, or any other information pertaining to a donor or potential donor. The Foundation collects personal information to use information about our donors and this Donor Privacy Statement describes how the Foundation collects, uses and shares such information.

Purpose

The purpose of this privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) is to inform users of our Site of the following:

  1. The personal data we will collect;
  2. Use of collected data;
  3. Who has access to the data collected;
  4. The rights of Site users; and
  5. The Site’s coolie policy.

This Privacy Policy applies in addition to the terms and conditions of our Site.

GDPR

For users in the European Union, we adhere to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (the “DPW”). For users in the United Kingdom, we adhere to the GDPR as enshrined in the Data Protection Act 2018.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer as we do not fall within the categories of controllers and processors required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Article 37 of the ODPR.

By using our Site users agree that they consent to:

When the legal basis for us processing your personal data is that you have provided your consent to that processing, you may withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent, it will not make processing which we completed before you withdrew your consent unlawful.

The Foundation collects and uses donor/personal information to operate the Foundation website and deliver the services you have requested. The Foundation also uses your donor/personal information to inform you of other activities or services available.

  1. Distributing receipts and thanking donors for donations
  2. Informing donors about upcoming fundraising and other activities of the Foundation
  3. Internal analysis, such as research and analytics
  4. Donation statistics may be used for promotional and fundraising activities
  5. Record keeping
  6. Reporting to applicable government agencies as required by law
  7. Surveys, metrics, and other analytical purposes
  8. Other purposes related to the fundraising operations
  9. We do not sell, trade, or rent Donor Data
  10. We use data gathered for payment processors and other service providers only for the purposes described in this policy
  11. To comply with law, such as a court order, subpoena or search warrant, government investigation or other legal requirements
  12. Prevention or detection of crime (subject in each case to applicable law), such as to investigate, prevent, or take other action regarding illegal activity, suspected fraud or other wrongdoing
  13. Protect and defend the rights or property of the Foundation, such as when disclosure would mitigate our liability in an actual or threatened lawsuit, or to enforce our agreements with you
  14. Protect the legal rights of our users, business partners or other interested parties or protect any individual’s or the public’s safety.
Who We Share Personal Data With

How Long We Store Personal Data

How We Protect Your Personal Data

To protect your security, we use the strongest available browser encryption and store all of our data on servers in secure facilities. All data is only accessible to our foundation’s members. Our members are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and a breach of this agreement would result in the termination.

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there always remains the risk of harm. The Internet as a whole can be insecure at times and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

Children

We collect the personal data of children under 16 years of age. We only collect the personal data of children under 16 years of age with the express consent of their parents or guardians. This consent is collected as follows:

Do Not Track Notice

Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that you can set in certain web browsers. We do not track the users of our Site over time and across their party websites and therefore do not respond to browser-initiated DNT signals.
